Mobile winter wrapping at your marina, boatyard or storage lot
MaxWax Marine provides mobile boat shrink wrap services across Boston and eastern Massachusetts. The crew comes to the place where your boat spends the winter, builds the frame and wraps the boat on site, so nothing has to be trailered to a wrap shop.
Every wrap is quoted to the boat and the site. Send photos through the quote form or call (508) 264-7027 to start.
Mobile shrink wrapping means the work happens where the boat already sits, whether that is blocked on stands at a North Shore boatyard or set on a cradle in a South Shore storage lot. A mobile wrap works when three things are in place:

A frame over the deck, cabin and any gear left aboard, shaped so rain and snow run off instead of pooling in low spots.
Film heat-shrunk tight to the frame and sealed along the hull.
Padding at rails, cleats, pulpits, tower legs and any edge that would wear through the film in wind.
Airflow through the cover over the winter, so moisture does not sit against cushions, canvas and gelcoat.
A zippered or reinforced opening for owners who need to get aboard during storage.
A zippered or reinforced opening for owners who need to get aboard during storage.

Shrink wrap protects what is under it. It does not repair it. A boat wrapped with unrepaired dock rash, stress cracks or salt haze comes out in spring with the same problems, after a winter of freeze-thaw cycles and moisture intrusion.
MaxWax Marine is a gelcoat, fiberglass and detailing company first, so the prep can be handled before wrap day by the same crew:
MaxWax Marine does not publish a flat boat shrink wrap price, because two boats of the same length can need very different wraps. The price comes from the job:
Length, beam and everything above the deck line: T-top, hardtop, tower, arch, radar, outriggers or a flybridge.
Whether the boat sits on stands, a cradle or a trailer, and how high it sits.
The marina, boatyard or lot, the ground surface, crew and material access, and the yard's rules for outside contractors.
Doors, vent count and anything you want reachable during the winter.
If you want it handled.
That is why the quote starts with photos. Upload the boat from the bow, stern and both sides, plus the spot where it is stored, and MaxWax Marine can price the job without guessing.
MaxWax Marine is based in Chelsea and serves Greater Boston and locations within 50 miles of the city. Boat shrink wrap is available at marinas, boatyards and storage lots in:
Boston Metropolitan Area, United States
Boat shrink wrap goes on after haul-out, so the date to lock in is before the boat comes out of the water. New England boating season runs May through October, and most boats in the area come out in the same few weeks of fall.
Requesting a quote before haul-out gives the schedule room to fit the repair and detailing work ahead of the wrap. If the boat also needs gelcoat or detailing work for launch, spring slots fill before April.

MaxWax Marine quotes each boat shrink wrap individually. The price depends on the boat's length and shape, how it is supported and the site where it is stored, so a flat rate would not fit most boats. Send photos through the quote form at maxwaxmarine.com or call 508-264-7027, and the quote comes from the job.
Yes. The crew travels to the marina, boatyard or storage lot where the boat sits, within 50 miles of Boston. The boat needs to be out of the water and supported on stands, a cradle or a trailer.
In most cases, yes, subject to the yard's rules. Some yards set their own requirements for outside contractors, so include the marina name in your quote request and MaxWax Marine will work out access with the yard.
In Boston and eastern Massachusetts within 50 miles of Chelsea, covering Boston Harbor, the North Shore and the South Shore. It is not a statewide service. If you are near the edge of that range, call to check.
MaxWax Marine wraps powerboats and cruisers. When you request a quote, include the make, model, length and any T-top, tower, mast or arch.
Before haul-out. The wrap goes on after the boat is out of the water and any fall repair is done, so an early quote request lets the dates line up.
No. Wrap keeps rain, snow and debris off the boat. It does not repair gelcoat cracks, dock rash or oxidation, and unrepaired damage can worsen through freeze-thaw cycles and moisture intrusion over the winter. Repairs are best done before the wrap goes on.
A fully sealed cover can hold moisture against cushions, canvas and gelcoat. Vents let air move through the wrap over the winter. They do not guarantee a dry boat, but they are a basic part of a wrap built for a New England winter.
